Visualizing Success: Patrick Butman's New Image, New Beginnings

“After 19 years in finance, I recently entered a new phase of my career where I'm able to stretch myself in a way that I haven’t in a really long time. What I witnessed during this transition is something I’d tell my younger self—you’ll surprise yourself in the fact that you’ll figure it out, personally and professionally.”

During our photoshoot in March, Head of Total Rewards and Analytics at BetaNXT, Patrick Butman, shared a bit about his recent transition and what he’d tell his younger self.

“It sounds simple, but I have been pleasantly surprised. I spent so much time worrying about figuring it out or dealing with impostor syndrome at a young age. All the things that get thrown our way that feel impossible, as you get older you realize you’ll figure it out.

I think of this transition period as a rebirth of sorts. I began exploring new ways of presenting myself. How do I want to show up on LinkedIn?
How do I bring together all of these new goals and make sure they are visually represented in a new headshot?

I had seen an acquaintance's new headshot by Alissa on LinkedIn and they were wonderful. I took it as a sign to book my own and get reintroduced to the world as part of this new journey.

The experience itself was so refreshing.

I learned so much about posing and lighting—
I was completely blown away by Alissa’s expertise.

I was working with someone who was a true professional who cared about my goals for the photos.

I’ve found that nothing is impossible.

It’s finding the time to do it that is challenging.
It’s challenging to find the space to figure it out.
And sensory overload is real.

Sometimes you need to take a walk around the block or step away to quietly process and figure it out. I learned to dedicate time to that, especially post-pandemic.”

Thank you, Patrick, for sharing your wisdom with us.
