Financial Executive Bringing Efficiency and Productivity to New Business

“I am so glad I met Alissa through a colleague. My headshot experience was great, and the location in NYC is fantastic!” That is what Ian Thompson, a financial executive with thirty years of experience, said.

Ian’s very upbeat attitude was contagious. Speaking to newer companies, “I’ve done the things that you are trying to do as a small to medium-sized business, maybe I can help. Stand-out moments in my career include the impact I’ve made transforming organizations into being more efficient and productive. That’s what I bring to the table.”

Ian has spent a lot of his career working with teams. “Every business is a people business; people working together to accomplish goals. Wonderful people whom I met along the way, and the relationships we’ve built, I am still benefiting from today.”

Fluidity in business is an ongoing issue. Ian shares, “Early in my career, I had an epiphany and realized things don’t stay static; life is constantly changing. The continual fluctuation within any company means people do not stay in one job including me. My role evolved even working for the same company. Being flexible in a culture of change provides a solid foundation for success.

If I were advising a younger colleague, I would say, ‘It’s okay to make a mistake, it’s okay as long as you raise your hand and say, ‘I made this mistake.’ And then share a way to ensure it doesn’t happen again.
A mistake can be the beginning of creating the new you.

Saying “I missed it, and then ‘let’s fix it, can be a culture and game changer. I’ve seen people fail well and fail poorly. In doing so, I have learned a lot.

In asking Ian what touches his heart, he smiles thoughtfully, “I have three daughters varying in ages between 9 and 26. Watching them grow, fail, fall, and succeed—gaining experience--is everything to me. To watch them embrace all that life has to offer touches my heart.

Alissa’s studio is in such a great location, close to Penn Station, great for both locals and those coming into town.

Her headshot team was welcoming and made me feel comfortable. Alissa did a great job of explaining why she was doing something or why I should stand in an uncomfortable position. It made it interesting. The way Alissa appears on social media is exactly who she is in person. My headshot experience was fantastic!”
